The Pictures Tell The Story Campaign will provide an opportunity for 50 schools to participate in a re-enactment of the historic “I Am A Man” photograph, in front of Clayborn Temple.
The students will have their picture taken by a professional photographer, including the descendants of renowned photographer Dr. Ernest C. Withers. The re-enactments will be completed by appointment, within the scheduled times. Students will also be given a tour of the Museum, including the short bio-documentary, The Quarterback.
Families may purchase the professional photograph taken at the re-enactment from the Withers Collection Museum and Gallery, which will entitle the eligible adults to one entry into the Mercedes Benz MLK 50 Commemorative Dream Car Give Away.
The community will be engaged in the fund-raising by taking advantage of an opportunity to make a $50 pledge to the Pictures Tell The Story Campaign and receive one entry to the Mercedes Benz MLK 50 Commemorative Dream Car Give Away, taking place on Sept. 16th, on historic Beale Street. For those who would like to enter into the giveaway the pledge has to be made inside the museum.
Each pledge is one entry into the Mercedes Benz MLK 50 Commemorative Dream Car Give Away.
Participants DO NOT have to be present to win.
